Although many schools have laid claim to it, the origination of the very first homecoming appears to be quite close to home. In 1911, the University of Missouri invited all of their alumni to return to attend a football game; they then threw a parade in honor of the returning past students. Since that time, homecomings follow basically the same formula – the football game is generally the center of the weekend, with events such as parades, dances, spirit nights and pep rallies adding to the festivities. Tobler’s Flowers is looking forward to providing the homecoming corsages, boutonnieres, and bouquets to all of our Kansas City area high schools.
Some of the most popular s for homecoming corsages include roses, orchids, carnations, and daisies. These s often come in a wide variety of colors, so can be customized for your school colors. Often, however, students choose a white corsage or boutonniere, adding their school spirit through colored ribbons that display their desired colors.
Corsages are perfect for members of the homecoming court, to be given to a favorite teacher, to honor the mother of the star quarterback, or to wear to the big dance. You may also wish to give a bouquet of roses to your favorite member of the homecoming court. And of course, no young man would be properly dressed without a classic boutonniere attached to his lapel, and we are happy to coordinate perfectly with his date’s corsage.
Tobler’s Flowers hopes that everyone has a wonderful Homecoming Weekend. From the big game to the big dance, call us for all your floral needs!
