There are two term generally used to describe available arrangements – funeral s and sympathy s. The distinction is simple, Flowers for the funeral service go directly to the funeral home, while sympathy s are delivered to the family home of the deceased. 
Funeral floral arrangements are often much larger and more formal. They can include the casket s, as well as standing sprays, crosses and wreaths. Any s associated with the casket or service are typically purchased by the immediate family, such as a spouse or sibling; while the standing designs, custom designs, or baskets are sent by extended family, colleagues and friends. Funeral s are not addressed to a particular person connected to the decedent, rather they are sent as a respectful tribute to the deceased themselves.
Please Note: It is not considered appropriate to send these more formal arrangements to a private residence, rather they are for the memorial service. Funeral baskets may be sent home after the services are complete.
Sympathy s should be addressed and sent directly to a loved one of the deceased, and generally the recipient has had a relationship with the sender. These floral arrangements are small-to-midsized, ensuring that they can be easily displayed in a home. Green and ing plants also make wonderful sympathy gifts, as they deliver a lasting reminder of your love and support.
Although gladioli have long been the traditional for funeral and sympathy s, these days the floral variety which you send to the memorial service or residence is considered less important. Whether their favorite or color, or a display of seasonal blooms, any s tastefully arranged can be considered an appropriate gift.
